Shubie

Wild wanderings amidst the wet forest
air heavy with chilled mist.
Sopping leaves destroyed underfoot.
cold air upon the cheek bestows a kiss.

Strike a path through the growth
onwards among the fallen trees
until arriving at the place
Where brook and earth meet breeze

Unknown direction, lost and free
Eyes skyward. Open to fall
Labyrinthian tunnels, maze of bark
It speaks predicting it all.
