Lost

Too much time. Self doubt, self hate. Self less. Working on it, but a long way off. Happiness comes like adverts on Netflix. Been feeling alone and undeserving. Only came back here because I remembered it once helped. We'll see

Hymn for the Privateers

I've been following the HFX Wanderers as an avid and passionate supporter since their very first game. It has been one of the things that was really missing from Halifax. Its something that I posted to the supporters group a while back. I've changed a couple of lines here and there since it was first written. There is a tune that goes with it, but I can't sing, so at the moment its only in my head.

****************************************************************************************

I signed up for the Privateers
To join the lands best crew,
With mates from all across the world
For eighteen-eighty-two.

We shout and stand for Wanderers
And sing our hearts til through
And cheer them from the Kitchen end
With barrels of Garrison brew.

Wanderers, Wanderers. We all sing for Wanderers
Wanderers, Wanderers. We all sing for Wanderers

In rain or sun we stand our ground
And support through every test
From the Citadel, we'll give Forge hell
And show them who's the best

Come join with us, the Privateers
'Til victory we shan't rest.
Our Harbour, Our Home, Our Soul, Our club
Its Halifax on our Chest.

Wanderers, Wanderers. We all sing for Wanderers
Wanderers, Wanderers. We all sing for Wanderers

Been a While

I'm not going to bring you up to speed. Years have passed since I last wrote anything on this blog. In fact I'd even forgotten that it was here for a while.
Its been a little busy in this microcosm.
I've been needing an outlet, somewhere to vent or spew ideas, so I'm back. Who knows if this will be regular, or just something that lasts for a couple of weeks, but... you never know. #helloanew

Shubie

Wild wanderings amidst the wet forest
air heavy with chilled mist.
Sopping leaves destroyed underfoot.
cold air upon the cheek bestows a kiss.

Strike a path through the growth
onwards among the fallen trees
until arriving at the place
Where brook and earth meet breeze

Unknown direction, lost and free
Eyes skyward. Open to fall
Labyrinthian tunnels, maze of bark
It speaks predicting it all.

Autumn Air

Listen to my voice.
I am the whispering autumn air.
I sound softly in your ears.
I caress your cheek with my cool breath
I fill you with my energy each time your breathe me in.
I wrap my arms around you and play with your hair.
I am all around you, within you, inside you.

As the Earth Turns

i breathe the crispness of autumn air
and miander onwards without a care
leaves crushed beneath my feet
through yard, forest, field and street
and i can feel the earth turn

my mind drifts through memories
images fall like leaves from trees
melancholy, mirth and energetic glee
my life, my time, everything me
and i can feel the earth turn

sounds of traffic, a distant roar
like endless waves upon a shore
dreams and hope arise from each
what lessons will this day teach
and i can feel the earth turn

Thinking

darkness of hour and with heavy head
i strive to find the desire for bed
the calm outside and warmth of air
soothes my mind. So without a care
i write as if my hands are free
and think of us, our happy three.

visions impressed upon the brain
re-enacted at once, and then again.
though distance denies, i feel near
to the ones that i hold dear
i miss this pleasant company
and think of us, our happy three.

with fingers tapping and wine in hand
i remember moments that were so grand
and smile because they felt so real
and look forward to repeat with zeal
again i say with resplendent glee
i think of us, our happy three.
